The Stranding and Salvage Network
(permitted by the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission)

The Stranding and Salvage team responds to calls for sick, injured or dead sea turtles. Training is held yearly in the spring.
The Team is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. These volunteers determine the disposition of the sea turtle: transportation to a rehabilitation facility or burial.

The Team also collects data for the Sea Turtle Stranding and Salvage Network in Florida.

The Team releases sea turtles after they have been rehabilitated.

Our STPS Team is one of a few organizations in Florida that rescues new hatchlings and wash-backs, saving over 10,000 in 2003.
